Overview:
A mobility drill targeting all movement planes of the ankle joint, useful in early ankle sprain and post-fracture recovery.
Sit on a high chair or bed where your feet hang freely off the floor.
Lift your affected leg slightly and point your big toe.
Imagine your big toe is a pen, and draw the letters of the alphabet in the air (A to Z).
Make the movements as large and distinct as possible, moving only the ankle.
Complete the full alphabet once, then switch legs.
