Building a Safe Home Rehabilitation Environment
The clinic provides the blueprint — home is where neuroplasticity actually builds. Research shows stroke patients who perform prescribed home exercises between sessions recover twice as fast as those who rely only on clinic visits.
Safe Positioning and Transfers
Learn proper bed-to-chair transfers, correct lying positions to prevent shoulder injury, and safe toilet and bathing transfers. These are the foundation of caregiver safety.
Daily Exercise Routine (30–45 min)
Morning: Passive range of motion for all affected joints (10 min). Midday: Sitting balance exercises and upper limb task practice (15 min). Evening: Standing practice with support, walking practice (10 min).
Signs to Stop and Call the Clinic
Increased pain, new neurological symptoms, fever, extreme fatigue, or behavioral changes warrant stopping exercises and contacting the rehabilitation team immediately.
