Task-Specific Repetitive Training for Stroke
Overview:
High-repetition, task-specific drills designed to promote neuroplasticity in the brain following a cerebrovascular accident (stroke). Focuses on retraining the brain to bypass damaged neural pathways and establish new connections for motor control.
**Grasping Drill:** Place 10 small objects (like coins or blocks) on a table.
Using the affected hand, pick up one object at a time and move it into a cup.
Repeat this process 3-5 times, focusing on accurate finger placement rather than speed.
**Reaching Drill:** Sit upright. Place a target object at arm's length.
Reach forward to touch the object, ensuring your shoulder does not hike up.
Return to the starting position. Repeat 20 times.
